About red hind,  Red  Hind Spawning Aggregations - Map


Fishing pots, traps, bottom longlines, gillnets or trammel nets is PROHIBITED year-round in the closed areas specified below.*

From December 1 through the last day of February each year, no person may fish for or possess red hind in or from the Caribbean EEZ off the west coast of Puerto Rico (west of 67°10' W. longitude).

Radius 1.5 miles surrounding the following:

BUOY 8, TOURMALINE BANK
No-take closure to all species from December 1 through last day of February, each year.

BUOY 6,  ABRIR LA SIERRA BANK  
No-take closure to all species from December 1 through last day of February, each year.

BAJO DE  SICO
Closed completely, fishing for all species is prohibited from December 1 through last day of February, each year.  The Government of Puerto Rico closed, by Executive Order, the remainder of the Bajo de Sico Area to all fishing during the seasonal closure.
